Far-Field Welding describes applications in which the distance from the working surface of a sonotrode to the weld is relatively large. This often applies to parts with a three dimensional surface (e.g. half shells, cylindrical bodies etc.)
Important for their weldability is the suitability of the plastic used as well as the correct construction of the sonotrode, especially if products are welded which contain sensitive electronics (like USB sticks, mobile phones, medical articles etc).
